Kefalas

Villa De Tara is a recently built villa, modern in design and finished to a high specification, and is set in almost 1000 sqm of private land. Sitting on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Kefalas, high above the sea, De Tara enjoys  panoramic views of the bay of Georgioupolis all the way to the town of Rethymnon, and the Psiloritis Mountain range, including Mount Ida.  Villa De Tara has been deliberately designed by it's owners so that all of the bedrooms, main living room, terraces, and the pool area benefit from the marvellous sea views and incredible sunsets.

Tastefully decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard, the villa has a warm, light and airy ambience, painted and tiled throughout in soft creams with mediterranean blue aluminium window frames, shutters and doors.  All modern conveniences are provided including satellite TV, DVD and CD players, ceiling fans and air conditioning units in the bedrooms and living room. For the cooler nights in the early or late part of the season, the a/c units also double up as heaters,  or cosy up infront of the open fire place in the lounge as you look out over the evr changing sea. There is solar powered hot water or a back-up emersion heater, and an off-road parking area at the front.

The villa has a number of outdoor terraces, so you can find sun or shade at all times throughout the day. Wrought iron gates open to the graveled garden area with flower beds and terraces. The swimming pool and covered BBQ area overlook the sea.

Accommodation

Ground floor: Enter into the compact kitchen with dining area and lounge. The large modern, fully equipped kitchen/dining area has wood cupboards, cream floor tiles, a dishwasher, electric hub and built in oven, a large fridge/freezer, a microwave oven. The kitchen has a window which looks out over the sea. The dining area has a dining table and chairs which seats 6. The lounge has 2 black sofas, a coffee table, open fire place and a TV/DVD/stereo unit.  Doors open to the patio area leading to the outdoor kitchen and BBQ, infinity swimming pool and the sea view terrace, which has a table and chairs.There is a double bedroom with fully fitted wardrobes, side table with a blue lamp, an air-con unit. From the small hallway is a bathroom with soft cream walls with contrasting brown floor tiles, a spacious shower area and window. The washing machine is housed here.

First floor: Stairs lead to a family bathroom and bedroom with twin beds. The family bathroom has brown floor tiles, cream wall tiles and bath tub. The bedroom has a wood wardrobe, matching bedside table with a blue lamp,  and an air-con unit. The spacious master bedroom with double bed has a large en-suite shower room. Both bedrooms have patio doors leading to private, pergola covered balconies overlooking the sea. 

About the area: Kefalas is regarded as one of the most beautiful villages in the region. The centre of the village is only a short walk from Villa De Tara through narrow, winding, bougainvillea lined streets. The village has 2 tavernas, 2 well stocked mini markets, and 4 kafenions, one with internet access. There are eight churches in Kefalas, some of which are historic, and the villagers celebrate with a feast day on August the 15^th. On the outskirts of the village towards Drapanos there is the ruin of an ancient windmill, and you will also see many old corn threshing circles dotted around the area. Villa De Tara is just 10 minutes by car to the gorgeous rocky cove at Ombrosgialos, which is famous for its turquoise water, great snorkelling, and lovely taverna nestled on the rocks. The village of Vamos which has a bank, shops and 2 great tavernas is only 5 kms away, and the lovely village of Almyrida, built around a crescent shaped sandy beach, is only 8 kms away. This beach is very shallow and safe, perfect for children. Lining the beach are many excellent tavernas, cafes and shops and the K-Travel Tourist Office. Also in Almyrida there is a water sports centre which rents out kayaks, windsurfers and catamarans. For those of you looking for even more activity, the historic town of Chania is only 45 minutes away by car.

All prices shown are per Villa, per Week, in EUROS. Not per person!

These prices include a free Welcome Present and a free copy of the Guide Book "Apokoronas Local Explorer." 

On request we will be happy to deliver a welcome basket to the villa at 40.00 € extra.

All services and the use of air conditioning and other equipment (as advertised) are included in the weekly rental rates shown on this web site. Children are most welcome in all our properties and we provide a free High Chair and Cot loan service but, we do ask that children are supervised at all times whilst around and in the swimming pool.
