Trekking-Groups

Crete offers great possibilities for trekking. K–Travel offers different variations, depending on the requested profile. Especially in and around the 'Lefka Ori' (White Mountains), Cretes largest mountain range with more than 25 summits over 6000 ft, and also along the south coast, opportunities for spectacular hikes and trekking are plenty.

Our trekking groups hike from village to village, carrying only daypacks. We transport the main luggage separately. fantastic gorges, spectacular coastal sceneries, summits and plateaus along our demanding trekking routes. Within limits the daily routes can be made very ambitious, from 5 to 12 hrs of hiking.


During the trek, the groups overnight in wonderful little villages along the coast, which they reach by foot. Normally the groups spend two nights in each village. Almost every second day is a resting day which are spent in picturesque villages beautifully located, with swimming, relaxing and good food! This rhythm can be adjusted as required.

Along the coast from Agia Roumeli to Loutro

This coastal track is relatively easy to hike, yet offers much variation. Partly along the beach, through pine forests, over higher allocated plateaus, always with great views over the coast of the Libyan Sea. About one hour hiking from Agia Roumeli, the route passes the small byzantine church of Agios Pavlos. It is said that the holy Apostle Paul once came here to teach.

Not far from Agios Pavlos comes  the junction for the path leading to the mountain village of Anopolis. After approx. 4 hrs you reach the 'Marmara Beach', named after the pure marble stone found in this area. This beach is perfect for a refreshing swim and a cold drink. From here it is only another hour to the days target; 'Loutro'.

Just before Loutro you come past the ancient site of 'Phoenix'. Today Phoenix consists of some 5 houses, mainly tavernas and apartments, wrapped around a beautiful little bay. All three villages, Agia Roumeli, Phoenix and Loutro can only be reached by foot or boat..
