ALMYRIDA

Located on the outskirts of the quiet seaside village of Almyrida in the Apokoronas region of Western Crete, Elias's House is part of a small complex of apartments and is only a 400 metre flat walk away from the sandy beach, shops and tavernas. The shared swimming pool with a separate shallow area, perfect for young children and non swimmers, sits in pretty landscaped gardens. Children can also enjoy the play area as you grill your evening meal at the shared barbecue. Conveniently close to the village, you can also enjoy views over the surrounding countryside and olive groves. Elias's House is on the first floor and is accessed via an external staircase. It also has four external balconies, two at the front and two at the back, providing   a choice of either sun or shade throughout the day.

Accommodation

Large living area including a kitchen/diner and lounge area, 1 bathroom, 1 WC, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, 1 single sofa bed and 1 double sofa bed located in the lounge.

The apartment has a spacious living area that comprises of a kitchen/diner and lounge area. There is a TV with satellite, a DVD player which also plays CD's, and an I-Pod docking station/radio. The two sofas convert into one double and one single sofa bed if required, giving a maximum occupancy of 6.

The fully fitted kitchen has an electric hob and oven, a fridge/freezer, washing machine, kettle, toaster, microwave, a ground coffee maker as well as a full range of crockery and cutlery.  The owners have also thoughtfully provided a selection of plastic crockery and glassware for use around the pool and BBQ.

The tiled shower room has a large illuminated mirror over the washbasin and a dual shower head.

There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. Both have spacious fitted wardrobes with ample space for all your clothes, mirrors, bedside cabinets and reading lights.

There is also an ironing board and iron, a hairdryer, clothes horse and a baby bath available. Four sunloungers have also been provided. Cots and high chairs are free of charge.

All rooms have air conditioning.

Location

Elia's House is only 300 metres from the beachfront of Almyrida which is built around a pretty crescent shaped sandy beach, with a small fishing harbour at the eastern end. The beach is very shallow and safe, perfect for children. Lining the beach are an excellent selection of tavernas, café/bars, bakeries, a jewellery shop, mini-markets, gift shops, ATM, internet access and an off-license. There is also a water sports centre which rents out kayaks, windsurfers and catamaran. The area is also well known for a variety of interesting walks, both locally and in the mountains and there are details available in the House's manual. Cycling and mountain biking are other popular activities undertaken locally.  For those of you looking for even more activity, the historic town of Chania with its beautiful venetian old town and harbor, bars and tavernas is only 30 minutes away by car.

There is a bus service into Chania, but we highly recommend car hire in order to explore the varied regions of the area.

These prices include a free copy of the Guide Book "Apokoronas Local Explorer".

On request we will be happy to deliver a Welcome basket to the villa at 40 Euros extra.

All services and the use of air conditioning and other equipment (as advertised) are included in the weekly rental rates shown on this web site. Children are most welcome in all our properties and we provide a free High Chair and Cot loan service but, we do ask that children are supervised at all times whilst around and in the swimming pool.
